This depicts the wall of water and debris created by the 2004 Indian Ocean (Sumatra Andaman) earthquake, which occurred on December 26th with an epicenter off the west coast of Northern Sumatra. It was an undersea mega-thrust earthquake that registered a magnitude of 9.1-9.3 Mw (Banda Aceh, Indonesia), and is the 10th deadliest natural disaster in history by estimated death toll (227,898). The wave reached 30-49 metres high.
